Natasha Steele
Medical Student Research Associate

Natasha began working with the Yokoyama Lab in 2014 as part of a multidisciplinary research initiative at UCSF focused on the development of novel clinical tools and technology to help providers diagnose and better care for patients with dementia. Exposure to the world of neurogenetics sparked her curiosity in the genetic and pathological mechanisms that drive these debilitating diseases. She joined the lab in 2016, and is particularly interested in exploring the genetics of immune dysregulation as they relate to neurodegenerative processes. Currently in her first year of medical school at the University of Washington, she hopes to build a deep enough fund of knowledge in the vast field of immunogenetics to have a meaningful impact on patients with these diseases.

Natasha spends her free time with family and loves to explore the mountain ranges of the West Coast.
